She obviously got mad with me for inviting Nic, Yvonne and XinYing home to do a project on Thurs.

To Mother, everything she doesn't remember wasn't said in the first place.

I aggravated her.

Was planning to complain about idiots who bump into you and pour all their wax on your exposed hand and not even know it, but yeah.

It looked like an icicle when I peeled it off my hand.

I watched Howl's Moving Castle.

You know, Japanese animation?

Not exactly japanese anime...

Psssssh.

It really really totally rocked.

Best movie I watched in ages...

Sort of.

I watched Constantine before that.

Ah well.

Lots better that whatsit- ahhhh Hitch.

I mean, come on.

Who would want to watch Hitch when they can watch Howl's Moving Castle?

It wasssss ssssssssssssoooooooooo good.

Yeah.

Veeery good movie.

Sadly, he's a lot nicer in the movie.

In the book, I would say he's funnier.

Except nothing beats the towel scene. :)

GO WATCH IT while you still can.

This little bit i stole from the official Miyazaki website made me smile a bit.

She enjoyed it a great deal and she particularly recommends anyone who sees it to watch out for the falling stars, which she says are "out of this world, literally and figuratively". Although it doesn't follow the plot of the book exactly nor have quite the same characterisation, and includes things that are definitely not in the original text, she didn't come away feeling unhappy with what has been done with her work.

At the meal, she and Miyazaki talked with each other so much that the poor girl interpreting for them didn't get a bite to eat, and DWJ was quite worried for her (but she was able to hand over to another interpreter after a while and did get some food in the end). He seems to be a great fan of the Dalemark books in particular, and his understanding of them and his views about them impressed DWJ a lot.
